Scandinavia's Best Hotel Gets a Sister

In April, a new boutique hotel opens centrally in Copenhagen, specifically at Vester Voldgade 23. The hotel is called Bella Grande and is a sister hotel to the award-winning Coco Hotel, which in 2023 was named Scandinavia's Best Hotel by the international travel magazine Travel+Leisure. Bella Grande is designed with a touch of Italian elegance mixed with contemporary comfort, and the 108 newly renovated rooms and suites are decorated in muted colors that invite relaxation. All situated centrally in Copenhagen, just a few steps from City Hall Square.

A Festive Italian Neighbor

The old building from 1899 has been given new life and, in addition to the hotel, also houses the Italian restaurant Donna, which opens at the same time as Bella Grande. And as a contrast to the calm atmosphere at the hotel, Donna invites guests to festive dinners. With colorful interiors and iconic Italian dishes, Donna brings the best from Italy to the heart of Copenhagen. The menu features dishes from the grill, as well as pasta and pizza, and – as befits a festive dinner – of course plenty of desserts.

About the Hotel

Bella Grande is a four-star boutique hotel. A double room can be reserved from 1200 kr. per night. For those who want extra space, there are also family rooms and junior suites, as well as two luxurious suites with private roof terraces and beautiful views over inner Copenhagen.

Hotel Bella Grande is owned by Copenhagen Food Collective (Cofoco), a restaurant and hotel collective that, with this opening, now owns and operates 18 restaurants and two hotels in Copenhagen. Cofoco is behind popular restaurants including Delphine, Høst, Vækst, Llama, and Les Trois Cochons.

Coco Hotel opened in 2020 and was Cofoco's first hotel. Already in 2022, Coco was named Copenhagen's Best Hotel by one of the world's largest travel media outlets, Travel+Leisure. In 2023, the same outlet placed Coco Hotel on the prestigious Top 500 world ranking of hotels, and a few months later named the hotel Scandinavia's Best Hotel.
